Website and Social Media Co-ordinator

For “Empowering our Alternative Voice” Project*

 

Part-time (25 hours/ week) position for 12 weeks

Bargaining Unit Position covered by a Collective Agreement

San Lorenzo Latin American Community Centre is the CRTC broadcasting licensed owner and operator of the Spanish Language community radio station, CHHA 1610 AM. Since 2004, we were the first dedicated Spanish-language ethnic community radio licensed in Canada on the AM dial.

Our audience consists of people of all ages within the Latin American community in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area whose first language is Spanish, many of whom are new immigrants. Our mission is to empower the cohesive development of the Spanish-speaking community by providing opportunities for promoting cultural heritage and fostering the understanding and respect for diverse cultural roots through programs to assist and support newcomers to Toronto, providing an alternative voice to mainstream media.

The “Empowering our Alternative Voice” project is intended to address the infrastructure at CHHA 1610AM in order to improve and modernize its website and increasing media access on social media platforms while maintaining the station’s essential historical elements as an alternative community based Latin American news, information and entertainment hub. The project involves the overhaul of its present website and social media presence.

Project Goals:

· Website Modernization to existing website.

· Increasing media access on social media platforms.

Job Requirements – Who You Are

· Hold a degree or diploma in graphic design with a focus on website/ social media development from an accredited academic or technical institution OR have equivalent experience in graphic design, website development and management of social media platforms.

· Experience in graphic design for all forms of media, websites and social media platforms using a variety of software.

· Knowledge of website development and experience with all social media platforms

· Knowledge in the use and technical aspects of the DJB system and software.

· Liaison with Radio Manager on a continuous basis

· Deadline-driven and have an eye for detail.

· Part-time: 25 hours per week

· Title: Website and Social Media Coordinator

· Grant Term: 12 weeks, from September 9 , 2026, to November 27, 2026

· Start Date: Wednesday, September 9, 2026

· End date: Friday, November 27, 2026

· Expected working hours: 5 hours per day/ Monday to Friday

· Bargaining Unit Position covered by a Collective Agreement
